NIKOTINE BEIRUT (نيكوتين بيروت) is a Lebanese-Canadian singer-songwriter and cabaret artist pioneering a "Queerabia" renaissance. She is known for her original music, powerful live vocals, Arabic-language covers, and the theatrical cabaret musical show The Dancing Djinn, which she co-created with Lebanese drag bellydancer Samara to celebrate third-gender Arab history.
GENRES: glam rock, mystical cabaret, Arabesque flamenco, jazz, and nu-disco - all with an Arabic flare.
NIKOTINE BEIRUT is the first Mukhannath in centuries, reclaiming a term (which came to be a slur) back to its original meaning: The Mukhannathun (المخنثون) were highly respected third-gender musicians and poets of medieval Arabia.
NIKOTINE BEIRUT is set to release her multi-lingual, multi-genre debut album in 2027. Read more.
